Today, fossil fuel reserves are getting harder to extract and are of lower grade and insufficient volume to meet global demand. Concern about fossil fuels and their effect on the environment are becoming more important. So how can the United States lessen its dependence on fossil fuels? To truly solve the problem, it will be necessary to change much of our infrastructure.
While receiving many resources from strip mining is helpful, it is killing many different plants and trees. About every 24 hours one hundred fifty to two hundred species of birds, insects, plants, and other mammals become extinct, and some of that is from strip mining because of the damage it does to the species habitats. In order for a miner to extract the most amount of coal and other ores, they need to remove the first few layers of the earth.
It may seem like only larger measures enacted by the government can be taken to prevent global warming, but we can help. While it is true, we do need stricter government policies to control greenhouse gas we as human beings need to start focusing our efforts to reduce and prevent global warming in our everyday routines. We have to leave a smaller carbon footprint or face the cold truth that the human race can and will go extinct in order for the earth to recover, its part of the planets way of sustaining itself. Scientists believe that greenhouse gases emitted by the human population cause global warming. Greenhouse gases come from a variety of sources such as the exhaust of automobiles, and even from cattle in feedlots.
