Hurricane Katrina is one of the worst storms to have hit the Eastern coast of the United States leading to massive loss of life, destruction of property, and economic losses. There were numerous factors that contributed to the disaster being the worst in history including the physical and human geography as well as social factors such as poverty and gender marginalization.
