The prosecutor assisting the Ghost Train fire inquest has slammed the detective in charge of the police investigation, describing his conduct as "criminal" and a perversion of the course of justice. Just hours after the fire had been extinguished, Inspector Knight shut down the possibility of arson and concluded instead the fire was caused by an electrical fault, without any firm evidence to support the finding. They didn't see the light of day. Inspector Knight had overseen the demolition and clearing of the entire Ghost Train site within half a day of the fire being extinguished, allowing the wreckage to be smashed and snapped apart, bulldozed and tossed into trucks.
